The CASA / Airtech CN235M-100 is a twin-engine multi-mission tactical transport aircraft with a max payload of up to
3 crew and 45 passengers. EADS CASA of Spain and Dirgantara Indonesia (Indonesian
Aerospace) formed the company Aircraft Technology Industries, or AirTech, to develop the CN-235 aircraft.
Project teams in Spain and Indonesia simultaneously began the design work in 1980 and the prototype flew first on 11 November 1983.
The production version of the aircraft first flew on 19 August 1986 and the aircraft type entered service in March 1988 with Merpati
Nusantara in Indonesia. More than 230 CN-235 short take-off and
landing transport aircraft are already built in the Spain and Indonsia.
On 20 October 2008, the Spanish Air Force (Ejército del Aire) EADS CASA CN235M-100 T.19B-04 '35-22'
came in at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands. CASA CN235M-100 35-22, in Spanish militairy service
also knmown as T.19B, is operated by Ala35 and based at Madrid-Getafe. Since 1991, the Spanish Air Force operated 18 CN235M-100 aircraft.
