D-MURU Tomark Aero Viper SD-4 c/n 105 - Flugplatz Leer-Papenburg in Germany - 24 March 2022 Flugplatz Leer-Papenburg (EDWF)

The Tomark Aero Viper SD-4 is a single engine, low-wing, all metal, two-seat microlight aircraft developed and manufactured by Tomark Aero s.r.o. in Presov, Slovakia. It is intended for training and towing as well as leisure. The Viper SD-4 is deliverable as an Ultralight (MLA) and Light Sport Airccraft (VLA). Development of the "Viper" started back in 2004. The abbreviation SD4 refers to the fourth aircraft designed by designer Slavo Dobrowitsch, who is part of the team of engineers at Tomark Aero. The Viper SD4 was flown first on 1 November 2006. The aircraft is constructed mostly of metal, with aluminium skinning, using the latest lasertechnology and CNC machines, not strange as Tomark Aero s.ro. is a subsidiary of Tomark s.r.o a company that produces precision metal parts, primarily for vehicle construction. Composite materials are used for the tips of the flying surfaces, the fuselage upper decking, engine cowling and wheel fairings. The wings have constant chord and curved, slightly upswept tips; they are built around one main and one auxiliary spar. The short span ailerons move on piano-type hinges, with slotted flaps on the rest of the trailing edges. The low-mounted horizontal tail is also of constant chord apart from a cut-out for rudder movement; the starboard elevator carries a flight adjustable trim tab. Fin and rudder are straight-edged, but swept. Engine options are the Rotax 912UL and Rotax 912ULS. The Viper SD4 has been built since 2006. After the Viper SD4 was built very successfully as an ultralight aircraft in the first few years, Tomark Aero decided in 2012 to also have this aircraft with a MTOW of 600 kg certified by EASA as a CS-LSA aircraft. This process was successfully completed on 22 March 2016. At AERO 2016, the EASA.A606 type certificate was handed over to the Type Certificate Holder Tomark s.r.o., Presov. More than 125 Viper SD-4 planes have been delivered by Tomark Aero.

In 2016, Tomark Aero / FSZ Bautzen Viper SD-4 s/n 105 was registered D-MURU in Germany with Ruwe-Aero at Flugplatz Strausberg (EDAY). Early 2022, the 2016-built aircraft was sold to a privat owner. On 24 March 2022, Tomark Aero / FSZ Bautzen Viper SD-4 D-MURU was seen at Flugplatz Leer-Papenburg.
