D-EMPL SOCATA TB-10 Tobago c/n 1239 - Flugplatz Breitscheid in Germany - 25 May 2023 Flugplatz Breitscheid (EDGB)

The SOCATA TB-10 Tobago is an all-metal low-wing cabin four-seated touring aircraft. In 1975, SOCATA (Société de Construction d'Avions de Tourisme et d'Affaires) started the development of a new light aircraft to replace the ageing Rallye. A universal low-wing four-seat airframe was chosen to be the basic of a new light aircraft line. The prototype, designated SOCATA TB-10 flew first on 10 February 1977. Three development aeroplanes followed this prototype "F-WJZP". Deliveries of the production TB-10 Tobago planes, initially powered by a 180 hp Lycoming O-360-A1AD engine, started in 1979. Next to the TB-10 Tobago the airframe was the base of a family of light aircraft, starting in 1980 with the TB-9 Tampico followed later that year by the TB-20 Trinidad. Over 720 SOCATA TB-10 Tobago's were built.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for the SOCATA TB-10 Tobago is TOBA.

On 11 April 1991, SOCATA TB-10 Tobago s/n 1239 was registered F-GKVF in France. On 28 May 1991, registration F-GKVF was cancelled as exported to Spain and temporary registered EC-740. On 26 September 1991, the aircraft was registered EC-FGE in Spain with Panavia, S.A. Escuela de Pilotos. Over the years the EC-FGE was transferred to Guadal Air Vuelo. In 2015, registration EC-FGE was cancelled as exported to Germanyu. In November 2015, the Tobago was registered D-EMPL in Germany.
On 25 May 2023, the 1991-built SOCATA TB-10 Tobago D-EMPL was seen at Flugplatz Breitscheid (EDGB) in Germany.
