The Cessna 150 is a two-seat single engined high wing light aircraft of all-metal construction. Cessna Aircraft Company began in the mid 1950s with the development of the Model 142, a tricycle-geared two place trainer. The Model 142 was based on the tail-wheel Model 140. After the Cessna 142 N34258 was flown first in September 1957, the Model 142 was renamed Model 150. Production of the Cessna Model 150 started with 122 built during 1959. In 1966, Reims Aviation S.A. started production in Reims, France of a version of the 150 designated the Model F150. Reims Aviation S.A. built a total of 1758 Reims/Cessna F150 airplanes. The Cessna 150 was offered for sale in named configurations that included the Standard basic model, the Trainer with dual controls, and the deluxe Commuter, along with special options for these known as Patroller options. Later, these configurations were joined by the top-end Commuter II and the aerobatic Aerobat models. When production ended in 1977 a total of 23840 airframes were built.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for the Reims/Cessna FRA150M Aerobat is C150.

On 5 January 1978, the 1977-built Reims Aviation S.A. built Cessna FRA.150M Aerobat s/n FRA150-0391 was registered D-EGLP in Germany. On 17 June 2023, Cessna FRA150M Aerobat D-EGLP overran the runway at Herten-Rheinfelden Airfield (EDTR), and flipped upside down in a field. The instructor and trainee pilot were not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage to one of the wings. At that time the D-EGLP was operated by Luftsportgruppe Südwest based at Flugplatz Herten-Rheinfelden.
On 9 May 2022, Luftsportgruppe Südwest' Cessna FRA.150M Aerobat D-EGLP was seen at Flugplatz Herten-Rheinfelden (EDTR).
