PH-0B1 - Magni M24 Orion - c/n 24213364 - FLYDRIVE / PAL-V - Breda International Airport in Holland - 4 July 2023 Breda International Airport (EHSE)

The Magni M24 Orion is a single engined, side-by-side two-seat, dual control, microlight gyroplane with an all-metal frame with a tricycle undercarriage and a fully enclosed reinforced fibre shell cabin. The Magni M24 Orion is developed and built by Magni Gyro SRL, Besnate in Italy and is the production version of the XM23 Orion. The Magni XM23 is an enclosed side-by-side development of the M-16 series. The XM23 Orion was flown first on 1 February 2007 and shares many components of the tandem, open cockpit M16 and M22 models. The M24 Orion has a steel airframe with a carbon fibre cabin and engine-enclosing pod. Transparent, top hinged doors on either side give access to the two seats, which are slightly staggered to make the most of the cabin width. The 2-bladed rotor, mounted on a mast above the pod, is of composite construction. The four-cylinder, four-stroke, turbocharged 114 hp Rotax 914 ULS engine in pusher configuration is mounted at cabin-top height and drives a 3-bladed pusher propeller. Below it, the slender flat-sided boom carries the fibreglass empennage, which consists of a swept horizontal stabilizer with end-plate fins and a larger, central, fin and rudder. The Orion has a tricycle undercarriage with the faired mainwheels, fitted with brakes, on spring cantilever legs. The nosewheel is unfaired. The M24 Orion is equipped with three easily accessible baggage compartments. The 82 lt capacity of the fuel tank allows flights of up to four hours at a cruise speed of 120-150km/h. The Orion can operate off snow-covered surfaces using the optional easy-to-install skis. Serial production of the gyrocopter started in 2009.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for the Magni M24 Orion gyrocopter is MM24.

On 17 November 2021, Magni M24 Orion s/n 24213364 was registered PH-0B1 in the Netherlands with PAL-V FlyDrive Academy. The PAL-V FlyDrive Academy at Breda International Airport (EHSE) provides flying lessons for future customers of the PAL-V Liberty Flying car. The PAL-V FlyDrive Academy was established to train future drivers/pilots of the PAL-Vs. The company has three Magni M24 Orion gyroplanes at its disposal: PH-4U7, PH-4Q8 and PH-0B1. These ultralight autogyros are side-by-side two-seaters, like the PAL-V Liberty.
On 4 July 2023, Magni M24 Orion PH-0B1 was seen at vliegveld Seppe / Breda International Airport in the Netherlands.
